President: Samantha Saunders

Samantha Saunders, MPH, CIC, CSSGB has been an Infection Prevention Manager with Allina Health since October 2021, first at United Hospital in St. Paul and currently supporting the Allina Southwest Region. She has previously served as APIC MN Emerging Infections Committee Co-Chair and as a member of the Education Committee.  Samantha has a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota and has been certified in Infection Control since 2019.  She also holds Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.



Past President: Katherine Grimm

Katherine Grimm, MPH, CIC is an infection preventionist at Maple Grove Hospital. After completing her Master's Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Katherine worked as a biostatistician for three years and then moved into Emergency Management for 10 years before getting into infection prevention. The Ebola work in 2014 made Katherine want to pursue IP and she was able to transition to IP in 2015.  She has previously served on the APIC MN BOD in the Secretary role.

President Elect: Jessica Nerby

Jessica Nerby graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in Medical Microbiology and Immunology and Clinical Laboratory Science and earned a Master’s degree in Public Health Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota. She has worked in Infection Prevention since 2007 and is currently the Infection Prevention Strategist for Allina Health. Her current work focuses on directing infection prevention strategy and ensuring regulatory compliance for the Allina Health IP program.

Secretary: Meghan Larson

Meghan Larson MPH, MLS (ASCP), CIC is an Infection Preventionist for Park Nicollet- Methodist Hospital. She has worked in the Infection Prevention field since 2017 and loves being a part of the Infection Prevention community. She also serves on the APIC MN Conference Committee.  She also loves the variety offered in this field- no day is ever the same! In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family, especially enjoying the outdoors at the family cabin.

Treasurer: Jodi Hogendorf

Jodi Hogendorf, MLS(ASCP), CIC has worked in Infection Prevention in the M Health Fairview system since 2016, first as an acute care Infection Preventionist for St. Johns Hospital, next as an Infection Preventionist for the ambulatory clinics, and currently as a surveillance Infection Preventionist focusing on surgical site infection and MDRO surveillance.  She became certified in Infection Control in 2019.  Jodi was previously a member of the APIC MN Conference Committee serving from 2017-2022 and Chair of the Conference Committee in 2018.

Director at Large: Amy Hays

Amy Hays, RN, MPH, CIC is Lead Infection Preventionist at Park Nicollet and has worked in Infection Prevention since 2019.  After receiving a Master's Degree in Public Health Epidemiology Amy wokred in medical research/clinical trials for seven years before returning to school to get a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  As a nurse Amy worked as a bedside nurse, public health nurse, and research nurse before finding her way to the infection Prevention field.  She became certified in Infection Control in 2016.  She has also served as a member of the APIC MN Education Committee.

Communications Director: Mindy McFarren

Mindy McFarren MS, MT (ASCP), CIC is then Director of Infection Prevention for M Health Fairview.  She has previously served on the APIC MN Conference Committee and as APIC MN Director at Large.

Membership Director: Brad Clyne

Brad Clyne, MS, ASCP is an Infection Preventionist at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital.  He has worked in Infection Prevention since 2023. Prior to IP Brad completed his Master of Science in Clinical Microbiology from UW La Crosse and worked in a wide array of Microbiology laboratories from 2011-2023.  He has also served as a member of the APIC MN International Committee.
