Election Candidates

Nominations for the 2027 APIC Minnesota Board of Directors and the APIC Minnesota Nominating Committee are open!

The Minnesota Chapter of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (MN APIC) relies on strong leadership to advance our mission of promoting infection prevention practices and professional development across the state. Each year, members are invited to participate in the election of chapter leaders who guide programming, education, and strategic initiatives.

Open Positions

The following positions are open for election this cycle:

President Elect

  • Role responsibility highlights:
    •     Term of office: 1 year as a voting member of the Board of Directors.
    •      Prepare to assume the office of APIC MN President the following year.
    •      Assume the office of President automatically should the office becomes vacant.
    •      Serve as APIC MN committee liaison.
    •      Coordinate the development of a new 3-year strategic plan.

Treasurer Elect

  • Role responsibility highlights:
    • ·   Term of office: 1 year term as a non-voting member on the Board of Directors.
    • ·    Prepare to assume the office of Treasurer for the following two years.
    •      Assume the office of Treasurer automatically, should the office become vacant.
    •      Exercise all powers to perform the duties of the Treasurer in the latters absence or inability to act.
    •      Assist with treasurer responsibilities when needed (annual budget, taxes, chapter payments).

Communications Director

  • Role responsibility highlights:
    • Serves as a non-voting member on the Board of Directors.
    • Term of office: 3 year term, appointed position, with evaluation after three years.
    • Serves as the point person for social media, newsletter, and website content changes for APIC MN Board of Directors, Committees, Appointed Representatives and members.
    • Serves as Chair of the Communications Committee.
    • Responsible for reviewing APIC MN website to assure appropriate, current and functional content.
    • Develop and Distribute Newsletter utilizing website functionality.

Nominating Committee Vice Chair

  • Role responsibility highlights:
    • ·   Term of office: 2 year term; second-year member serves as Chair, first-year member serves as Vice Chair.
    •      Responsible for recruiting members to run for office.
    •      Assist Nominating Chair with preparation of ballot.
    •      Assist Chair with announcement of candidates.
    •      Participate in evaluation and communication of election results.
